Behind-the-Scenes Look at How Beekeeper Connects Parc 55 Hotel Teams

Located in bustling downtown San Francisco near Union Square, and part of the legendary Hilton hospitality brand family, Parc 55 hotel hosts hundreds of locals and tourists alike in their 1,000-plus room hotel. Parc 55 adopted Beekeeper to centralize hotel internal communications and for employee recognition of their 400 employees.

Always curious to see how our team app is changing the way teams communicate, the San Francisco Beekeeper office had the opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the hotel with Parc 55’s executive team. We saw first-hand how vital internal communication is to a world-class, successfully-functioning, and well-connected hotel team.

Hotel Employee Recognition and Engagement

As we were introduced to team members in housekeeping, maintenance, and engineering, the lively environment and rapport between Parc 55 team members was evident––and contagious. From front-of-house to sous chefs, the hotel’s staff clearly take great pride in their respective roles at the property, and it shows. The hotel’s onsite restaurant features an experienced and dedicated dining team that creates such artfully-arranged food platters that guests can often be found snapping photos of the offerings. HR leaders highlight staff who win customer service awards or get great customer reviews on travel review sites.

Leveraging Digital Signage HR Tools

During our back-of-house tour, Debby Ann Salamanca, Director of Housekeeping at Parc 55, showed us how she uses digital signage to ensure housekeeping teams are kept in the loop with the latest hotel information, such as service and loyalty tracking which shares guest analytics in the form of current TripAdvisor scores and cleanliness ratings. With digital signage, information can be synched and shared directly from Beekeeper on televisions monitors in areas where cell phones aren’t readily available, or for team members that don’t have access to a mobile device. This is especially useful as a union property so the hotel’s workers can receive relevant and time-sensitive updates while at work.

Employee Surveys and Polls to Gauge Engagement

The Beekeeper team app is also used by HR for surveying and polling employees about what kind of volunteer and team building events they would like to see happen and participate in. Initiating a poll through a communication stream in Beekeeper allows management to get fast, real-time employee feedback. Employee responses are then measured to determine the next volunteer outings for the hotel’s workforce. These team events are documented and photos are shared through Beekeeper.

Throughout our experience at the Parc 55 hotel property, employee recognition and acknowledgment of staff performance was vocalized constantly by leadership, managers, and frontline team members alike. With such visible, strong team communication, it’s no wonder the team at this 4-star hotel receives consistent online reviews praising the customer service with feedback that it’s “always a pleasure” to stay there.
